Fellow Lions, Lioness & Leos: You are invited to the 49th Annual District 33Y Midwinter Convention on January 25 - 27, 2008, at the Clarion Hotel (formerly the Sovereign Best Western) on Riverdale Rd., Springfield - not to be confused with the Clarion Hotel in Northampton!

Come join us on Friday Night for a night of carnival fun with clowns, hot dogs, games, ferris wheel, dunk booth, peanuts, popcorn, cotton candy, sleazy carnie guys, the whole package!! Well, maybe not EVERYTHING, but you get the idea... You can come dressed as a carnival worker or performer. What a great way to start off our weekend of Lionism.  We hope to see you all there.

Lions from District 33Y are urged to attend the Saturday morning business Meeting. The Youth Speech Competition will follow, and the students' topic is "How can my generation contribute to the world we will inherit?" As usual, we expect differing viewpoints on this subject, and some outstanding speeches from the youths of District 33Y.

In the afternoon we will have the Governor's reception, followed by the Governor's Banquet, with our weekend guests, ID
Leland R. Kolkmeyer and his wife Marcia. Saturday evening will also include several award presentations to Lions/Lioness/Leos in our District who deserve to be recognized for the outstanding service they provide to the Lions of our District, Lions International, and to our communities.

Sales tables will be open on Saturday. You will be able to purchase chances on all sorts of Lions items and view informational tables from places such as Mass. Lions Eye Research, and the Lions Orthoptic Clinic. Hospitality rooms will open at 9 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings for your entertainment and socializing.
