Club Events * Eyeglass recycling: We have boxes for recycling eyeglasses at - - - Balin Eyecare, 269 Locust St., Northampton - - - Vision Associates, 78 Main St., Northampton - - - Ken's Eye Wear, 152 N. King St., Northampton - - - The Hospice Shop, 18 Bridge St., Northampton - - - Everything Optical, 104 Main St., Northampton - - - Northampton Senior Center, Conz St., Northampton - - - Northampton Survival Center, 265 Prospect St., Northampton - - - Dulong & Labbee Real Estate, 285 N. King St., Northampton - - - Florence Optician, 78 Maple St., Florence - - - Valley Medical, 70 Main St., Florence * Dog Walk for the Animals. April 18, 2010 at Look Park in Florence. Lion Teams clean a stretch of Rt. 5 in Northampton for each month from April through November. The program is under the auspices of the Mass Highway Department. * Kid Photo ID . Mondays: July 26 and August 2, 2009. Our club takes photograph's of kindergarten age children and provide the photo I.D. card at Arcadia Park at 10 AM. Part of the Northampton Recreation Committee Safety Village Program. * Parades!!!! In addition to the ones listed below, we also participate in parades when asked to by other communities. We bring our Lions Antique Fire Truck with Lions, children and grandchildren of Lions on board. We toss candy to children watching the parade (when it is allowed by the Parade Committee). - - - Memorial Day Parade - - - 4th of July - - - Thanksgiving Day * Ski & Skate Sale: December 3, 2011 at the Smith Vociational School in Northampton. Featuring new and used equipment. We receive used equipment from donors and on consignment: skis, skates, snow boards, snowshoes and ski suits. We work with area merchants who bring equipment for sale at reduced prices. Our club shares a percentage of sales, both private and merchant equipment. Some people donate equipment. Consignment and donation items can be brought the evening before, on Friday, Dec 4. (Items cannot be accepted on Saturday.) * $100 Raffle: Sales from January to March 2012. On the night of our March meeting we draw the winning numbers. We invite those who purchased a ticket to come to our meeting and enjoy dessert with us. First Prize: $5000, second prize $1000, plus thirty other cash prizes. * Antique And Classic Car Show: Sunday, September 11, 2011 (rain date, Sunday, Sep 18, 2011) at Three County Fairgrounds, Route 9, Bridge St. Northampton. 10 AM to 3 PM. Show car gate open 8 AM to noon. Vehicles from the 1900 ERA to 2012 (Green Cars). Dash Plaques to the first 150 cars. Trophies Peoples Choice, Presidents Choice, and "Best" in Show. Show cars/trucks - $10.00. Public Entry: Only $5.00, Chrildren under 15 Free. Parking is free. |
