Important, and of use, to us
****** Lions District 33Y is located
in the western part of the state of Massachusetts and encompasses the
counties of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire. We are comprised
of 39 Lions Clubs, 1 Lioness Club and 7 Leo Clubs made up more than of
1,200 men, women and youths. We have come together for a common cause,
that of helping others. At the 1925 Lions International
Convention, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "Knights of the
Blind". Since that time, we have become identified with sight
conservation, helping others obtain eyeglasses, vision surgery and eye
research. We have expanded beyond sight conservation into diabetes
awareness and research because of the large effect diabetes has on sight
impairment. And into hearing research and assistance. But the Lions are more than sight conservation. We also assist in the education and development of our youth, in aid to the elderly, in a multitude of other worthwhile endeavors. Below you will find links identifying the leaders of our District, to programs of our District, to the calendar listing club and district events, and to some of the clubs that make up our district with further explanations of what those clubs do. Please look through our site. Thank You.
